Long ago a programmer grew tired of looking at ugly color schemes after coding in a text editor for hours on-end. He crafted the zenburn color palette to give his eyes a rest; many years later it survives in the wild, evolved and translated to other applications by others.

Zenburn is already installed in Notepad++. If you install the Consolas font it will use it as well.
